WHERE AND HOW IS THERAPY CONDUCTED?
We believe in tackling issues where they occur. This means if your child has trouble accepting "no" at a toy store, session will be at the toy store! If your child needs help learning to wait in line or has a hard time in public places, we will be there to help guide and train you on how to manage that.
We identify the interventions that work for your child, utilizing the principles of ABA, primarily reinforcement. Then we train, guide and support parents and families to be able to help their children succeed through life's many challenges.
WHAT CAN WE HELP WITH?
Our goal is to address deficits in any area, communication, social, functional etc and to reduce problem behaviors. Using evidence based techniques, hard work, consistency and working with families we aim to reduce behaviors that are dangerous, maladaptive, unmanageable and those that prevent your child from succeeding at home, school and in the community.
WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
Therapy sessions look different depending on the needs of your child. They are a dynamic combination of seated time, running around and "playing" while using techniques to facilitate communication. Sessions can range from 2 to 5 hours. Programs and procedures are being run continuously with constant data collection. The practitioners are educated, experienced and creative so they are able to get "work" done in ways your child can enjoy. "Work" is always being done but this can look like letters on a table, walking outside for street safety, playing connect 4 to work on turn taking skills and more. Every session is as unique as every child.
